From the recording Last Man on Moon
"Days Turn to Years Part I" is the first of a two song set. The guitar melody for "Days Turn to Years Part I" was inspired by Marco Beltrami's "3:10 to Yuma" theme song. The content of the song however was originally inspired by Steve Job's sudden passing. He had dedicated his life to his work and had an immeasurable impact but by accounts of those around him when he was drifting away it seemed he had lots of regrets. "Days Turn to Years Part I" reflects on how quickly our time flashes before our eyes. It often leaves me wondering if I'm spending it right.
Lyrics
Once my memories
Grab their things and leave me
Will you remember me?
Did I make you proud?
No we don't have a lot of time
No we don't have a lot of time
Days turn to years overnight
How do I know if I'm living them right?
Once the oxygen
Empties out completely
Will I be afraid?
Will I be alone?
No we don't have a lot of time
No we don't have a lot of time
Days turn to years overnight
How do I know if I'm living them right?
