From the recording Last Man on Moon
The underlying theme in the album "Black Swans & Pirate Songs" belongs to, "Last Man on Moon", is disorientation. Not to steal the thunder from Jack Sparrow, but "Black Swans & Pirate Songs" is me approaching world's end, having no idea what lies ahead of me. Lost in the vastness and unknown, its unpredictable like a black swan event. The pirate influence is also an ode to my childhood. I had a great imagination and would always dress up as a pirate as a kid. I had huge aspirations of adventure and significance but somehow along the way I lost my direction. Or did I just grow up?
Lyrics
Yo ho ho
Hey hey
Yo ho ho
Hey hey
Lost in the ocean
My broken compass keeps me
Lost in the ocean
Now the angry clouds roll my way
They roll my way
Black swans and pirate songs
Could this be the end
Oh my God I can't hold on
This must be the end
My love
I'll be with you above
Yo ho ho
Hey hey
Yo ho ho
Hey hey
Lost in the ocean
Are the stories that I tell
Lost in the ocean
I only hope they find you well
I hope they find you well
Black swans and pirate songs
Could this be the end
Oh my God I can't hold on
This must be the end
My love
I'll be with you above
Yo ho ho
Hey hey
Yo ho ho
Hey hey
Black swans and pirate songs
Black swans and pirate songs
Could this be the end
Oh my God I can't hold on
This must be the end
My love
I'll be with you above
Yo ho ho
Hey hey
Yo ho ho
Hey hey
