  1. Caveman

From the recording Last Man on Moon

The main riff to and concept behind "Caveman" has been in my back pocket for over 10 years. It finally found a home in my album, "Last Man on Moon". In being my most transparent and honest release to date, "Caveman" is about stripping down everything to your core and starting again from scratch. Like an onion, we have all of these layers upon layers of who we are and what we believe, and outer shells keep being engulfed by new ones over and over and over again until we get to a point where we have no idea who we are and how we got here. "Caveman" is inspired by returning to nothing but basic instincts and needs. Knowing what we know now, perhaps we can better build that onion by choice rather than being forced to.

Lyrics

I've worn this tie
My whole damn life
Even when I was a baby
And its not by choice
Cause I don't have a voice
In a world built on maybes

Lets start all over again
All over again
Kill the lights
Leave behind the sleepless nights
All over again
Do the Caveman

I want to hunt
Where life and death confront
Be face to face with my soul
And I want to pray
In my own way
Not what you force down my throat

Lets start all over again
All over again
Kill the lights
Leave behind the sleepless nights
All over again
Do the Caveman
